Last week Julian, our esteemed MD, popped down to Bevin Court, a St. Anne’s hostel for homeless men in Sheffield, to have a chat with some of the guys there on the TuffCycle scheme about finding employment, how recruitment works and applying for jobs online.
TuffCycle is a project which works with homeless men to help them get back into consistent work. This is done primarily through DIY sessions, where the guys upcycle and build furniture. In addition to this, TuffCycle has now also started offering a series of employment workshops, the most recent of which was hosted by Julian. These workshops aim to cover all sorts of different aspects of gaining employment from CV writing to the importance of creativity in business.
Julian touched on a load of different points, aiming to give a general overview of the recruitment landscape and the best ways to go about looking for work. The whole thing was an absolutely top-notch experience and we’ll be more than happy to offer our assistance again if any further opportunities arise in the future.
